I Asked Manus AI a Simple Question. It Came Back With a Full Business Plan I Wasn't Expecting
I've used Manus once before, for a different business idea, so I went in this time expecting something useful. I wasn't expecting what actually happened.
I asked it something fairly simple. Take a look at my website and Pinterest account both barely a week old and give me a content plan for the next 6 months, plus a realistic idea of what I could earn.
That's it. That's all I asked for.
What came back
Manus didn't just give me a content calendar. It gave me a full breakdown content pillars, posting frequency, even worst case and best case earning projections based on what it could see of my actual website and Pinterest profile.
I sat there for a minute just looking at it. I'd asked a fairly ordinary question and got something that read like it came from an actual consultant.
Then I asked it the question that changed everything
I typed this, word for word:
"Can you now think outside the box and give me additional strategies to earn higher revenues 12 months from now."
What came back wasn't a tweak to the existing plan. It was a completely different idea. One I genuinely would never have thought of myself not because I'm not capable of it, but because it simply wasn't on my radar as a possibility for someone at my stage.
I'm not going to share exactly what it was here. Partly because I'm still working out if it's right for me, and partly because I want to actually build it quietly before I talk about it publicly. But I will say this it's the first time an AI suggestion has genuinely shifted how big I'm allowing myself to think about this.
The reality check I gave myself
I asked it one more thing should I focus on growing my audience first, or start on the bigger ideas straight away.
It gave me a genuinely thoughtful answer. But here's the bit I want to be honest about: even with all of that detail, I know the sensible answer for where I actually am right now. Audience first. Always.
The projections it gave me are exciting to look at. But I'm treating them as a ceiling to aim for one day, not a plan for next month. Because right now my real job is consistency. Posting pins. Writing honestly. Growing slowly. The big stuff comes later, if it comes at all.
What Manus could do for you
Even if you never act on a single thing AI suggests, doing this exercise yourself is genuinely worth it. Here are a few angles it made me think about that I hadn't properly considered before:
Your audience as an asset, not just a number every subscriber or follower is a tiny stake in something that could become much bigger than you first imagined
Stacking income streams rather than picking one affiliate links and digital products can sit alongside bigger ideas, not instead of them
B2B as well as B2C Thinking beyond individuals I'd only ever thought about reaching people one at a time. It pushed me to consider whether businesses might value similar things too
Productising your knowledge turning what you're learning into something sellable, not just something you write about
Thinking in years, not just weeks it's easy to only plan the next pin or blog post. Asking AI to map out 1, 2 and 3 year possibilities forces you to zoom out
My honest take on Manus
If you want big picture thinking, strategic structure, or you're stuck on "what could this actually become" it's genuinely brilliant for that. It thinks several steps ahead in a way that's hard to do for yourself when you're knee deep in the day to day.
But it will keep offering you bigger and bigger ideas if you let it. And the AI doesn't know your actual capacity, your job, your life, your time. Only you know that.
So my advice if you try it ask the big questions if you're curious. Just don't mistake an exciting projection for a plan you have to act on tomorrow.
I'll share more about the idea itself once I know whether it's actually going anywhere. For now back to the pins.
You don't have to act on the biggest idea to find the exercise useful. Sometimes it's less about the answer and more about the questions it makes you ask yourself.
